When I visited Siargao, I wanted to explore every corner of this island and its natural wonders. I’ve heard so many incredible things about it and I was excited to see what it has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I spent a little over a week on Siargao and apart from visiting the famous Cloud 9 Beach, Pacifico Beach<\/a><\/strong>, Magpupungko Rock Pools and the Bent Palm Tree<\/a><\/strong>, I had the chance to go on an island hopping tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour included three beautiful islands – Guyam Island, Naked Island<\/a><\/strong> and Daku Island<\/a><\/strong>. The first one I visited was Guyam Island and I have to tell you, this place is incredible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this guide, I’ll share with you everything you need to know when visiting Guyam Island. But first, let me tell you how to get to this beautiful island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. How to get to Guyam Island, Siargao<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Guyam Island is a small island, located about 2 kilometres away from General Luna. It’s part of island hopping tours, together with Daku Island and Naked Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The easiest way to get to Guyam Island is with a tour. You’ll have around one hour and a half – two hours to spend here and to enjoy this place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you only want to visit Guyam Island and skip the other two islands (Daku Island<\/a><\/strong> and Naked Island<\/a><\/strong>) you can go to the wharf<\/a><\/strong> and talk to the local boatmen. It’s possible to arrange a private tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if time allows you, I recommend doing the entire tour. The other two islands are equally beautiful and enticing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get to Siargao<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The easiest way to get to Siargao is by plane from Cebu City<\/a><\/strong>. The plane trip will take around one hour while taking the ferry from Cebu will take almost an entire day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. What to expect at Guyam Island<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As we started to approach Guyam Island, I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of this place. There was a small clump of palm trees surrounded by white sand and crystal-clear water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The island itself is quite small but hidden between the palm trees you can find a stall selling burgers and fresh fruit juices. There are also a few swings and hammocks, perfect if you want to relax for a few minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as our boat arrived at Guyam Island, Dan stumbled in the water with his camera and backpack. Luckily, our drone and other electronics were in a waterproof bag in Dan’s backpack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, his camera was around his neck and it gave its last breath on this beautiful beach. We were a bit sad but with so much beauty around us, we quickly forgot about this incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good to know <\/strong>– When going on island hopping tours, buy a waterproof bag<\/a><\/strong> to protect your electronics and valuables!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started walking around the island and we discovered a few small natural pools with turquoise water. I jumped right in and spent a few minutes there thinking about how lucky I am for having the chance to visit this incredible island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are no houses or people living on Guyam Island. It’s a touristic island that welcomes visitors only during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After exploring every inch of this island, we went back to our group, ready to head to our next destination – Naked Island<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Guyam Island entrance fee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Most island hopping tours include the entrance fee of 30 PHP per person and the docking fee of 10 PHP per person. However, it’s best to ask your guide before the tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Where to stay in Siargao<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Most hotels and guest houses are located in General Luna. This village is the place where you’ll find ATMs, supermarkets and other tourist facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
