Siargao is a beautiful island, famous for its surfing waves, endless palm tree jungles and incredible natural wonders. I had the chance to stay for a little over a week in Siargao and explore everything it has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, apart from the famous Bent Palm Tree<\/a><\/strong>, the Magpupungko Rock Pools, Cloud 9 Beach and Pacifico Beach<\/a><\/strong>, there are a few other places worth exploring that are just a short boat ride away from Siargao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of them is the incredible Naked Island, part of an island hopping tour that also includes Daku Island<\/a><\/strong> and Guyam Island<\/a><\/strong>. In this guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to know when planning a trip to Naked Island, Siargao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. How to get to Naked Island<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is only one way to get to this beautiful island. You can only visit it as part of an island hopping tour. I wrote a complete guide about going island hopping in Siargao<\/a><\/strong>, including where to book your tour and how much it costs. For all the information you need, click here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you only want to visit the Naked Island and skip Daku Island and Guyam Island, you can try booking a private tour at the wharf<\/a><\/strong> in General Luna. Go there early in the morning and talk to one of the local boatmen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can’t guarantee that they’ll agree to take you only to the Naked Island but you can try. If you have the time, I highly recommend doing a complete island hopping tour. The other two islands are incredible and worth visiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get to Siargao<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The easiest way is to take the plane from Cebu to Siargao<\/a><\/strong>; this is the option we chose. The plane ride will only take around one hour, compared to almost an entire day by boat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. What to expect at Naked Island, Siargao<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As the name suggests, there’s nothing on Naked Island. This small mound of sand sitting in the middle of the ocean has no palm trees, no houses, no vegetation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s just a pile of white sand surrounded by crystal-clear water, perfect for swimming. There is no shade on this island so make sure to bring sunscreen or a t-shirt with UV protection<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, I recommend bringing some snacks with you (water and something to eat). There are no shops on this island and it’s important to keep hydrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s not much to do at Naked Island. You can take a walk, lay your towel on the sand and enjoy the sun or swim. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recommend visiting Naked Island during the low tide when more of the island is visible. However, during the low tide you can’t swim because the water is not deep enough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re visiting Naked Island during the high tide, the water will be perfect for swimming but only a small part of the island will be visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have a drone, don’t hesitate to lift it and snap some awesome pictures with this place. This reminds me – buy a waterproof bag<\/a><\/strong> for your electronics and belongings. Dan lost his camera to the waves of Guyam Island<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will probably have around one hour to spend on this island if you’re booking an island hopping tour<\/a><\/strong>. Take lots of photos and enjoy this unique place!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good to know<\/strong> – there is no entrance fee for visiting Naked Island in Siargao. You’ll only have to pay for the tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Where to stay in Siargao<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even though Siargao is a big island, the majority of hotels and guest houses are located in General Luna. In General Luna you’ll also find lots of restaurants, a few ATMs and supermarkets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
